According to Orange County Social Services there are 367 foster care youth, ages 17-21, that will soon be aging out of the foster care system without any strong familial connection to help them transition into adulthood. Targeting youth with little or no family relationships, Seneca's Family Finding seeks to provide each child with the life-long connections that only a family can offer.
Through an intensive search and engagement process our goal is to locate and reconnect vulnerable children and youth to a supportive network of caring adults. To a child that has moved from placement to placement, reuniting with relatives can provide a sense of belonging and at times can lead to a permanent placement. Studies show that if we can connect the child to a support system it will significantly increase their pathways to education, independent living skills, employment, housing, healthcare, and financial responsibility.
In honor of National Foster Care Awareness month, help us raise $25,000 to serve more foster care children with a desire to feel connected and loved by their family.
